CLEANING

44 Unplug the iron, and sit it on its heel to cool.
45 Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
46 Remove spots from the soleplate with a little vinegar.

THE ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE

47 Change the anti-scale cartridge regularly.
48 An average user, steam ironing for 2 hours a week, should change the cartridge every 4 to 6

weeks in a soft water area, or 2 to 3 weeks in a hard water area.

49 Check the steam output. If it reduces substantially, replace the cartridge.

50 If you see flecks of scale on your clothes, replace the cartridge.

CHANGING THE CARTRIDGE

51 Remove the reservoir from the base unit, lift out the old cartridge, drop in the new one, fill

the reservoir, then initialize.

REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES

52 For replacement cartridges, contact after sales service.

DESCALING THE BOILER

53 Descale the boiler every time you replace the cartridge.
54 Let the appliance cool for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
55 Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of warm water in a jug.
56 Put a towel over the work surface, to catch drips.
57 You’ll need access to water and a sink or basin.
58 Remove the reservoir.
59 Set the iron down on the work surface.

60 Don’t scratch the soleplate.
61 Turn the base unit upside down.
62 Unscrew the cap.
63 Empty the boiler into the sink.
64 Pour the vinegar/water mixture into the hole.
65 Replace the cap.
66 Shake the base unit.
67 Leave it for half an hour.
68 Empty the boiler into the sink.
69 Repeat this procedure with fresh water.

70 Replace the cap.
71 Turn the base unit right way up.
72 Sit the iron on the base unit.
73 Replace the reservoir.
