Next Selection: Preparing the next Audio Track
During playback of an audio CD, you can already prepare the next track that will be played as soon as the current
one is finished. The difference with direct selection of a track or disc is that playback of the prepared track starts only
after the current track is finished (i.e. not right away).

During playback of an audio CD, press

DPC-6.1 or the remote controller to
activate this function.
NEXT indicator
flashes
The NEXT indicator flashes and the disc
number and track number disappear on
the display.
Use the DISC 1 – 6 buttons (or DISC +
and DISC –) to select the disc that
contains the next track you want to
listen to.
The number of the selected disc and
the “NEXT” indicator flash and the “AL”
appears on the display.
AL: means that all tracks will be played back.
If you wish to play all tracks of the se-
lected disc, press the NEXT SELECTION
button again to confirm the operation.
Skip to Step 3 to select the track number.
If you do not press the NEXT SELECTION
button, the operation will be confirmed
when the number and the “NEXT” indi-
cator stop flashing.
Select the track using the numeric buttons.
The number of the selected track lights
up on the display.
In that case, the display looks as follows:
Notes:
• This function is only available for audio CDs (when the CD
indicator lights).
• You need to press one of these buttons within 8 seconds after
pressing NEXT SELECTION. Otherwise, the Next Selection func-
tion will be cancelled. In that case, start again with step 1.
Tip:
You can also use the DISC SKIP button on the DPC-6.1 to select
the next disc.
■ Checking the next selection
Press the NEXT SELECTION button to
confirm your selection.
The disc number flashes and the track
number lights up continuously. After a
few moments, the disc and track
numbers of the currently playing track
reappear.
You can check the next selection by
pressing the NEXT SELECTION button.
As soon as the current track is finished,
the DVD Changer will play back the pre-
pared track (or disc if you selected “AL”).
Notes:
• The
/
buttons are disabled while the Next Selection
function is activated. Pressing the DISC SKIP buttons or DISC
+/– buttons will cancel the Next Select function.
• You can only prepare one track with Next Selection. See
“Programming Memory Sequences” on page 22 for how to
prepare a series of tracks. Preparing yet another track before
the previously entered Next Selection command has been
executed overrides your first setting, so that only the second
Next Selection is carried out.
• If you stop playback by pressing the STOP button, the Next
Selection function is cancelled.
■ Cancelling the Next Selection function
If you decide not to take advantage of the Next Selec-
tion function after all, proceed as follows:
1. Press the NEXT SELECTION button.
The disc numbers flash on the display.
2. Press the CLEAR button.
3. Press the NEXT SELECTION button again.
The NEXT indicator goes dark and the function is
cancelled.
