CPU Features Submenu of the Advanced Menu
The CPU Features Submenu configures the system
processor. Note that this submenu only appears in certain
configurations, based upon the system CPU.

Menu Field Options Default Description
Intel(R)
SpeedStep(TM)
Technology: • Disabled
• Enabled [Enabled] When Disabled is selected, CPU speed is fixed to bat-
tery optimized speed. When Enabled is selected, CPU
speed and battery use can be selected from On Bat-
tery and On AC.
On Battery: • Maximum Performance
• Battery Optimized
• Automatic [Battery Optimized] When Maximum Performance is selected, CPU speed
is maximized. When Battery Optimized is selected,
CPU speed is optimized for battery operation. When
Automatic is selected, the CPU speed is determined
by the power source used.
On AC: • Maximum Performance
• Battery Optimized
• Automatic [Maximum Performance] When Maximum Performance is selected, CPU speed
is maximized. When Battery Optimized is selected,
CPU speed is optimized for battery operation. When
Automatic is selected, the CPU speed is determined
by the power source used.
