When using an electrical appliance, always follow
basic precautions, including the following:

Use indoors only.

This appliance is provided with double insulation. Use only identical replace-
ment part s . See instructions for servicing of double-insulated appliance under
“ S e rv i c e ” .

Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
ch i l d r e n . Do not allow this appliance to be used as a toy or to run unattended
at any time.

Keep hair,loose cl o t h i n g ,f i n ge rs ,feet and all parts of body aw ay from openings
and other moving part s . Do not operate floor machine in bare feet or when wear-
ing open toe shoes or sandals.

Do not use with flammable or combu s t i ble liquids such as gasoline or use in areas
where they may be present.
•
When using chemicals with this mach i n e,be certain area is well ventilated.
•
F o l l ow manu f a c t u r e r ’s instructions for all chemicals used with this mach i n e. Do
not exceed recommended mixing ratios.
•
Use only commerc i a l ly ava i l a ble floor cl e a n e rs and waxes intended for machine
a p p l i c a t i o n .
•
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs .
•
Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening
bl o ck e d ;keep free of dust,l i n t ,h a i r,or anything that may reduce air flow.
•
Unplug the cord from outlet when not in use or when taking off or putting on
brushes or pads. Be sure handle is in upright position before attaching or
r e m oving plug from outlet.
•
A lw ays disconnect cord from electrical outlet before servicing the floor mach i n e.
•
Do not unplug by pulling on cord . To unplug,grasp the plug,not the cord . N ever
handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
•
Do not pull or carry by cord ,use cord as a handle,close door on cord or pull cord
a round sharp edges or corners . Do not run appliance over cord . Keep cord aw ay
f rom heated surfaces.
•
The use of an extension cord is not recommended. If an extension cord is
a b s o l u t e ly necessary,use one with an electrical rating equal or greater than the
vo l t age and amperes specified on the data plate located on the wheel cov e r.
•
Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working
as it should,has been dro p p e d ,d a m age d ,left outdoors ,or dropped into water,
take it to a Hoover Fa c t o ry Service Center or Au t h o r i zed Hoover Warranty Service
Dealer (Depot).
