Clean brush roll.
Replace Window, reposition screws, and
tighten securely.

When to replace
Replace the brush roll when the brushes
do no touch the edge of a card as it is
moved across the opening on the bottom
of the nozzle.
A new brush roll can be installed by your
local Authorized Hoover Dealer (Depot)
or Hoover Factory Service Center.
Belt
The long-lasting belt may never need to
be replaced. However, if the belt should
break, it can be replaced by contacting
your local Authorized Hoover Dealer
(Depot) or Hoover Factory Service Cen-
ter.
Lubrication
Lubrication is not necessary since the
motor and brush roll bearings are perma-
nently lubricated.

4. If you have a
problem
If a minor problem occurs, it usually can
be solved quite easily when the cause is
found by using the check list below.
Problem: Cleaner won’t run
Possible cause

• Not firmly plugged in.

Plug unit in firmly.
• No voltage in wall plug.

Check fuse or breaker.
• Blown fuse/tripped breaker.

Replace fuse/reset breaker.
Problem: Cleaner won’t pick up

Empty dirt cup.
• Filter clogged.

Empty dirt cup and clean filter.
• Nozzle clogged.

Remove debris from brush roll and
surrounding area
• Brush roll brushes worn

Replace brush roll
