Connecting the Radio to a Network Device
2.2.1 Cable Connections
The application ports on the RLX-IFHS module support RS-232, RS-422, and
RS-485 interfaces.
The application ports are located on the bottom of the radio. Do not use the
"CONFIG" port on the top of the radio to connect your device network.
The RS-232 port uses a standard DB9 connector.
The RS-485/RS-422 port uses a custom connector, supplied with the radio.
Refer to the following diagrams to construct a port cable suitable for your
application.
RS-232
When the RS-232 interface is selected, the use of hardware handshaking
(control and monitoring of modem signal lines) depends on the requirements of
the networked device. If no hardware handshaking will be used, the cable to
connect to the port is as shown below:
