wise it may overflow during the boiling
process.
WARNING!
• Never put alcohol, sugar or milk into
the glass pot8!
• Always allow the glass pot8 to cool be-
fore filling it with cold water. Large tem-
perature differences create large stresses
in the glass and may cause it to shatter.
1. Remove the glass pot8 from the
base14.
2. Open the lid6.
3. Remove the boiling system5.
4. Hold the boiling chamber4 tightly with
one hand, and pull the overflow1 up-
wards until the screen2 has opened the
boiling chamber, and then place the
boiling system5 on a level surface.
5. Fill the glass pot8 with the desired
quantity of water. Never fill with water
above the MAX marking9, and never
below the MIN marking10.
6. Place the desired quantity of tea into the
boiling chamber4.
7. Insert the boiling system5 into the glass
pot8. The recess in the boiling cham-
ber4 should be pointing towards the
handle7.
8. Close the boiling chamber4 by press-
ing down the screen2 at the over-
flow1. Make sure while doing so that
the riser pipe3 slots into the recess in
the bottom of the pot.
9. Close the lid6 of the glass pot8.
10.Use the On / Off switch11 to switch
the device on (I). The control light12
and the On / Off switch will light up.
You can interrupt the boiling process at
any time by switching off the device at
the On / Off switch (O) or by removing
the glass pot8 from the base14.
Depending on the volume of water, the boil-
ing process takes 6 - 10 minutes. After the
boiling process is complete (control light12
goes out), the device automatically switches
to the heating function. If the glass pot8 is
left for a long time and the contents cool
down, the tea kettle will reboil the contents.
During this process the control light will light
up again. As the contents will flow through
the boiling system5 again during this proc-
ess, you should remove it after the first boil-
ing process.
NOTE:
• Do not use green tea in the tea kettle.
The tea kettle generates a higher boiling
temperature than is required for steep-
ing green tea. The tannins released
would make the tea taste bitter.
• For proper enjoyment, drink the tea after
it has brewed the first time. If the tea is
kept hot for a long time, or if it is re-
boiled, water will evaporate and the tea
will become stronger and bitter.
• For stronger tea, add more tea to the
glass pot8; for weaker tea, add less.
• The strength of the tea depends on the
volume of water, the type of tea and the
quantity of tea used.
7. Overheating
protection
If there is no water or inadequate water in
the glass pot8 and the device is neverthe-
less switched on, this will activate the over-
heating protection, which will switch off the
heating element inside the device. The On /
Off switch11 will continue to be lit, howev-
er the device will no longer heat the con-
tents.
1. Switch off the device with the On / Off
switch11.
2. Allow the device to cool down.
3. Press the Reset button13 at the under-
neath of the glass pot8.
The device can now be reused.
