CAUtIon! DAngEr oF
ExPLosIon!
Never recharge sin-
gle-use batteries. Do not short-circuit

or open them. Overheating, fire or destruction
of the batteries might result. Never throw batteries
into fire or water. The batteries might explode.

J

Avoid extreme environmental conditions and

temperatures as they may affect batteries e.g.
above radiators. Otherwise the batteries are
more likely to leak.

J

Exhausted or damaged batteries can
cause caustic burns upon contact with
the skin. To avoid this, always wear

suitable protective gloves in these circumstances!

J

When inserting the battery, ensure the correct

polarity! This is shown in the battery compart-
ment.

J

Batteries must not be disposed of in the normal

domestic waste!

J

Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of

batteries in the proper manner!

J

Keep batteries away from children; do not

throw them in the fire, short-circuit them or take
them apart.

J

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous

membranes if fluid has leaked from the batter-
ies. Rinse any parts of the battery that have
come into contact with battery acid immediate-
ly with copious amounts of water and seek
medical attention without delay.

J

If the instructions are not complied with, the

batteries may be discharged beyond their end
voltage. There is then a danger of leaks. If the
batteries in your device have leaked, you
should remove them immediately in order to
prevent damage to the device!

J

Remove the batteries from the device if they

have not been used for a long time.

J

Remove any flat batteries immediately from the

device. There is an increased risk that the bat-
teries will leak!

Weighing

j

Place the baby scales on a firm, horizontal and
flat surface.

j

Do not place the baby scales on a carpet or
towel or any other soft surface. Otherwise the
result may be affected. In special situations you
can place a board on the surface and put the
baby scales on the board. A solid surface is a
requirement for correct weighing.

j

Turn the baby scales on with the power button

1

.

note: if you do not want to put the baby di-
rectly on the weighing surface, but on a towel
or similar item, the towel has to be placed on
the baby scales before the scales are switched
on in order to ensure that the weight of the tow-
el is not included.

j

Initially the previously stored weight is dis-
played. In the condition as supplied to the cus-
tomer the scales show 20.00 kg. As soon as
the display changes to “0.00” kg and “Ready”
the weighing procedure can begin.

j

Place the baby carefully on the scales. Be care-
ful with its head and do not drop the baby.

j

As soon as the baby is still enough to obtain
an accurate measurement, the word “HOLD”
flashes in the display and the weight is shown
for 10 seconds.
note: if the baby moves too much it is not
possible to determine its weight. In such cases
you should try to calm the baby. However, you
should not touch it, as this would cause an in-
correct weight to be displayed.

j

If you would like to store the weight, press the
M button

3

within this 10-second period. In-

stead of “HOLD” the letter “M” now flashes.
The weight is now stored and is displayed
when you turn the baby scales on again.

j

The baby scales switch off automatically.
