Before connecting the device to the mains you
should always check the device and the mains
lead for any damage. A damaged device
represents the danger of death from electric shock.
The supply cord of the lamp cannot be replaced.
If the cord is damaged the appliance should
be scrapped.
Do not use the device if you find any damage.
Never open any of the electrical equipment
or insert any objects into it. Such interventions
represent the danger of death from electric shock.
It is essential that the device does not come
into contact with water or other liquids.
Never touch the mains plug with damp or wet
hands.
Protect the mains lead against sharp edges,
mechanical stresses and hot surfaces.
Never use the device in the immediate vicinity
of a bathtub, shower or swimming pool.
If the lamp is not to be used for an extended
period (e.g. during your holidays), pull the mains
plug out of the mains socket.
This lamp is only intended for use
indoors.
FIRE HAZARD! Fit the lamp shade
so that it is at least 0.5 m away from
the material illuminated. Fire can
result from the development of too much heat.
CAUTION! Do not allow any of the bulbs to
come into contact with the mains lead, other-
wise there is the risk of fire (see Fig. H).
The lamp requires no protective
covering to protect against UV radi-
ation or shattering of the lamp (“self-
shielded”).
Assembly / use
Assemble and use the lamp as shown in
Fig. B–H.
Replacing a bulb
Switch off the lamp using the foot switch.
Pull the mains plug

out of the mains socket
and allow the lamp to cool down.
Screw the old bulb out of the socket.
Screw a bulb of the same type into the fitting
of the lamp. Ensure that the bulb is securely
and firmly seated.
Maintenance and cleaning
CAUTION! DANGER OF ELECTRIC
SHOCK! For electrical safety reasons do not
clean the lamp with water or other liquids and
never immerse it in water. Always use a dry
fluff-free cloth for cleaning the device.
CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! Check all
the bulbs and the lamp for damage immedi-
ately after unpacking. Do not assemble the
lamp if you discover it is damaged. In the event
of the product being damaged, please contact
your specialist dealer about replacement.
Do not use any solvents, petrol or similar. This
would cause damage to the light.
Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket and
allow the lamp to cool down.
Use a feather duster to clean the lamp.
Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of
recyclable materials, which you may
dispose of at local recycling facilities.
Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more
details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.
Under no circumstances should the
device / article and its bulbs be disposed
of with normal household rubbish.
The device / article and its bulbs should be disposed
of at an officially approved disposal centre or at
your local communal disposal facility.
