Safety / Use / Maintenance and Cleaning
Allow the lamp and bulb 1 to cool down
before you touch them.
J Never look directly into the light! Eye damage
could result.
J Please observe that the energy-
saving bulb is not dimmable.
Avoid the danger of
death from electric shock!
J Before use, ensure that the mains voltage avail-
able is the same as the required operating
voltage for the device (230 Volt ~).
J Before connecting the device to the mains you
should always check the device and the mains
lead for any damage. A damaged device rep-
resents the danger of death from electric shock.
J The supply cord of the lamp cannot be replaced.
If the cord is damaged the appliance should
be scrapped.
J Do not use the device if you find any damage.
J Never open any of the electrical equipment or
insert any objects into it. Such interventions rep-
resent the danger of death from electric shock.
J It is essential that the device does not come
into contact with water or other liquids.
J Never touch the mains plug 6 with damp or
wet hands.
J Protect the mains lead against sharp edges,
mechanical stresses and hot surfaces.
J Never use the device in the immediate vicinity
of a bathtub, shower or swimming pool.
J If the lamp is not to be used for an extended
period (e.g. during your holidays), pull the
mains plug
6 out of the mains socket.
J This lamp is only intended for use
indoors.
Q Use
j Before using the lamp for the first time, remove
the ring of lampholder
2 by screwing it anti-
clockwise off the lamp base 4 .
j Take off the lamp shade 3 , turn it upside
down and place it once more on to the lamp
base
4 .
j Screw the ring of lampholder 2 back on to
the lamp base 4 .
j Insert the bulb 1 into the fitting and tighten by
turning it clockwise.
Note: Use a clean, fluff-free cloth when you
are inserting the bulb
1 .
j Ensure that the bulb 1 is securely and firmly
seated.
j Set up the lamp on a horizontal, even surface.
j Insert the mains plug 6 into the socket.
j Press the ON / OFF switch 5 to turn the table
lamp on or off.
Q Replacing a bulb
j Switch off the lamp using the ON / OFF switch 5 .
j Pull the mains plug 6 out of the mains socket
and allow the lamp to cool down.
j Screw the old bulb 1 out of the socket (see
“Use”).
j Screw a bulb of the same type into the fitting
of the lamp. Ensure that the bulb is securely
and firmly seated.
Q Maintenance and Cleaning
CAUTION! DANGER OF ELECTRIC
SHOCk! For electrical safety reasons do not
clean the lamp with water or other liquids and
never immerse it in water. Always use a dry
fluff-free cloth for cleaning the device.
J Do not use any solvents, petrol or similar. This
would cause damage to the light.
j Pull the mains plug 6 out of the mains socket
and allow the lamp to cool down.
