VI IR Function (for NFS Series)
The lens is designed to have the same focal
point in the IR light range as in the visible light
range. Since there is no focus shift in any light
condition, the lens is ideal for use with Day/Night
cameras. However, as the depth of field in the IR
range is very narrow, focus adjustment should
be done very carefully. So when you install the
lens with IR illumination, please check your focus
setting in both visible light and IR light.
A minor flange focus is possible between visible
light and IR light. If there is a day/night applica-
tion with IR illumination, the flange focus should
be set under IR light conditions. This is because
the iris is generally opened when used at night
due to the poor level of light and low depth of
focus. During the day, the iris is continuously clo-
sed further, there is a greater depth of focus and
a difference in the flange focus is compensated.
