The Pro-Flex 120 mulching kit is intended for the mulching of leaves and other debris in
the grass. Mulching will be best achieved with the mower cutting high set around 1 ½”
high. It may be used with or without the mulching plates installed to close off the
discharge, depending on the results required.
The Pro-Flex 120 Mulching Kit Contains:
4 - Mulching Blades - left hand (black)
1 - Mulching Blade - right hand (red)
4 - Mulching Plates - left hand
1 - Mulching Plate - right hand
5 - Carriage Bolts – 3/8” x 1 ¼”
Installation Instructions:
Mount the Mulching Blades:
1. Park the mower on level ground and using the tractor, raise the mower decks into the
transport position.
2. Release the deck safety latches on the front 2 decks and the middle rear deck.
3. Using the hydraulics, lower the decks. This should leave the wing decks folded up
and the other 3 decks locked on the service position.
4. Disconnect both the PTO and the hydraulic hoses from the tractor.
5. Remove each of the blades and replace with the mulching blades. NOTE: The left
front mower deck, is where the RIGHT HAND blade (red) is mounted.
6. Make sure the new blades are securely tightened to the blade spindle bar.
Mounting the Mulching Plates – to close off the discharge:
1. Attach the hydraulic hoses and raise the mower in the up position. This will allow you
lock out the safety latches on the front 2 decks.
2. Lock out the deck latches and lower the front 2 decks to the ground.
3. Remove the hydraulic hoses from the tractor.
4. Start on one of the wing decks first. Remove the 2 carriage bolts that will hold the
plate in place. These are shown on figure 1. One holds the back corner of the “H”
frame on top of the deck, and the other holds the inside corner of the deflector shield.
5. On the front 2 decks, the easiest way will be to roll the decks out from the mower.
Remove the large pivot pin and raise the lifting arm up by hand so the yoke is free.
6. Roll the deck inward and remove the belt from the deck pulley, then roll the deck
away from the machine.
7. Install the mulching plate the same as the rear decks. NOTE: The left front deck that
has the special red blade also has a special mulching plate.
8. Insure that all bolts are tightened.
9. Re-mount the front decks, making sure the drive belt is mounted properly on the deck
pulley.
