INTRODUCTION
The Safety Lock D is an automatic ignition switch bypass that permits running the vehicle’s
engine with the ignition switch key removed. Momentarily depressing the switch, bypasses the
ignition switch and permits turning the key “OFF” and removing it. The engine will continue to
run. An unauthorized operator trying to move the vehicle will step on the brake in order to shift
the transmission. The brake light signal resets the Safety Lock D and the engine stops. It
cannot be restarted without the ignition switch key.
The Safety Lock D contains resistors that are switched so as to be in series with the Key Switch
to BCM module. This bypasses the theft prevention circuitry built into the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. The Safety Lock D is supplied with a lighted push button switch and a 3 foot wire
harness. Drill a 5/8 diameter hole in a suitable location and mount the switch.
2. Mount the Safety Lock D in a protected area close to the vehicle wiring harness.
3. Locate the Purple/Brown wire in the ignition harness and cut at a convenient location.
Splice extension wires if required and connect the two Purple/Brown wires to terminals
5 and 6 of J1.
4. Connect the other wires of J1 as indicated in the wiring diagram
