BusTerminalBeckhoffoffersacost‑effective,high‑performanceoptionforestablishingPTP,starandbroadcastconfigurations
viaradio.

inputandoutputdatacyclically.Thecompleteexchangetakes20 ms.Thefree‑fielddistancebetweentwoKM6551unitscanbe
upto300 minPTPmode.
Instarmode,themastercommunicatesunidirectionallywithuptosevenslaves;the10 bytesofprocessdataaredistributed
cyclicallytoalldevicesandtheexchangetakes20 msperslave.Theslavesaredirectlyaddressedbythemaster,sothatthe
temporalsequenceofthecommunicationisprogrammedfromthePLC.
Inbroadcastmode,themastersendsnewdatatoallbroadcastslavesunidirectionallyina10 mscycle.Theslavesreceive
thesedata,butcannotsendanydatathemselves.Anynumberofslavescanlistenin.
