The pulse rate should be set to at
least 80.
7. The pulse width dial provides extra
versatility to your TENS. Increasing or
decreasing the pulse width heightens
or lessens the sensation at the site of
the electrodes. It is suggested that
the pulse width be set initially at 100
and then adjusted as desired for
comfort.

The boost button - insert the jack
plug into the only socket left at the
top of the unit.
9.
There are two modes operated by a
click switch on the front of the unit.
“B” stands for burst and “C” for
continuous mode. Click the switch to
burst. The unit must be left in this
setting throughout labour
10. Turn the left intensity control on the
top of the unit slowly clockwise until
it clicks on and the power indicator
lights up. Continue turning until you
feel an output from the unit. Repeat
with the right hand control.
11. Burst mode (use between contrac-
tions): This is the first mode that you
will use. It feels like a bursting
tingling sensation i.e the pulses are
off and on periodically, and it will help
to promote those all important
natural pain killing chemicals
12. Continuous mode (use during con-
tractions): When experiencing a
contraction you should press the
boost button, the machine will then
switch automatically into continuous
mode for the extra surge of power
required during contractions. This
feels like a continuous tingling
sensation (pins and needles). (If you
do not have a boost button you may
use the click switch on the front of
the unit to change modes and click to
“C”).
