INSTALLATION
Preparation
While performing the steps in this section, work on a soft surface to prevent excessive shock
to the drive being installed. Also refer to the manufacturer's documentation provided with the
drive.
• Remove the drive from its protective packaging.
• Plastic Drive Bezel: If the drive came equipped with a plastic front bezel, it must be
removed before installing the drive into the drive carrier.
• Master/Slave Drive Selection: There is no Master/Slave drive selection with the DE50.
It is already factory-configured (permanently) as Cable Select.
Drive Installation
NOTE:
A #1 Phillips screwdriver will be required during this procedure.

Loosen and remove the four (4) #4-40 Phillips Flat Hd. screws located on the bottom
of the drive carrier unit (Figure 6). Save these screws for Step 6.
