13. If your vehicle has emblems in this area,
they will interfere with the installation and must be
removed. Using a heat gun and a plastic putty
knife (or equivalent), carefully remove the em-
blem from the trunk deck.
CAUTION: Do not use too much heat or it could
damage the paint. Be sure not to scratch the
paint with the plastic putty knife (or equivalent).
14. Gently set the LPE spoiler in place making
sure not to scratch the paint with the mounting
studs.
15. Using a 10mm socket and ratchet, install
the six (6) OEM M6 X 1mm stanless nuts after
applying the loctite supplied in the kit. (PN: 1568
5170)
CAUTION: Be careful not to drop the nuts down
into the trunk deck. The are very difficult to re-
move if dropped.
16. Using an allen wrench, adjust the six (6)
mounting studs into the spoiler as far in as possi-
ble while still maintaining full thread engagement
on the OEM M6 X 1mm stainless nuts. Torque
these nuts to 53 in-lbs (6 N-m). If full thread
engagement is not achieved, use a 3 mm allen
wrench to un-thread the studs a bit to ensure full
engagement on the nuts.
