2013 HOPE Technology F20 Pedals instructions

Congratulations, you have just acquired the HOPE TECHNOLOGY F20 pedals proudly designed, made and tested in our Barnoldswick factory in Great

Britain.

The pedals feature a fully CNC machined platform out of 2014 T6 aluminium alloy with anodizing finish. The axle is made of high strength Cr-Mo, heat

treated and plated. The plateform is supported by one Norglide bush and 3 ball bearings in a fully sealed chamber to ensure a long lasting and mainte-
nance free run. The 20 replaceable pins per pedal will provide the right amount of traction and grip.

The box contains a set of pedals and 2 bags of 20 pins
To finish to assemble the pedal and install it you’ll need a 2mm Allen key and a 8mm Allen key.

The pedal takes 10 pin per face. Engage the thread of the pins by hand

then tighten them from the opposite side using a 2mm Allen key. Do not
use a ball end Allen key as you would risk to damage the pin hexagon.
Tightening torque 4 N.m

Carefully inspect the pedal before each ride for any sign of damage. If any doubt do not

ride the pedals and contact Hope Technology.

To lubricate the bush and bearings we recommend using lithium grease (with no PTFE).

The Norglide bush is self lubricating but a very small amount of grease is added when
assembled in the factory, they shouldn’t need any further attention. The ball bearings can
be lubricated by removing the pedal end screw using a 6mm Allen key. Fill up with grease
and re install the end screw.

If needed, all parts are available as spare through your dealer. Look at the pedal

exploded view on our website to identify the part numbers.

Identify right hand and left hand pedals by looking for the groove on the

LH pedal spindle shoulder or the LH mark on the pedal body.

Check that the crank arms threads are free of any burrs or damage. Grease

the pedal spindle threads. Install first the pedals by hand. Counter clockwise
for the left hand pedal and clockwise for the right hand. Finally tighten the
pedal axles using a 8mm Allen key. Tightening torque 35-40 N.m
