ARCHITECT AND ENGINEER SPECIFICATIONS
The 1234 Wide-Range Speaker System shall be the
two-way, sound reinforcement type with a sturdy
wood bass reflex enclosure, a 1200 Hz dividing net­
work, a 15-inch musical instrument type LF loud­
speaker, and a HF compression driver loaded with a
cast
aluminum sectoral horn, having exponential
expansion. A 50-foot, 2-conductor cable with stand­
ard phone plug at each end shall be included with
the system.
The portable system shall meet the following struc­
tural and performance criteria: The enclosure shall
be constructed of heavily braced %" wood, covered
in black leather-grained vinyl and with removable
black
polyester cloth grille, vinyl-edge bumper
guards, steel front legs, rear casters and tow bar
handle. Power capacity, 120 watts, measured using
pink noise, band-limited from 50 Hz to 20 kHz. Fre­
quency Response: 50 Hz to 20 kHz. Crossover fre­
quency, 1200 Hz, full range dual LC network, 12
dB/octave slope. Impedance, 8 ohms. Pressure sen­
sitivity: 100 dB SPL at 4 feet from 1 watt, 120 db SPL
at 4 feet from 100 watts (equal to El A rating of 53.5
dB SPL at 30 feet from 1 milliwatt).
Maximum dimensions shall be 45" H x 28" W x
271/2" D and net weight shall be 147 lb, maximum.
The loudspeaker system shall be the ALTEC Model
1234.
