Player will not recognize an inserted disc.
Check the the disc is inserted correctly, with label 
side up.
Check that the disc is not damaged or dirty.

Sound is poor, distorted or jumpy.
Check that the CD is not scratched or dirty. 
Confirm that player is functioning correctly by load- 
ing and playing another CD.
