CONTROL CONVERSION FROM DGC500 TO
DGC2020
WARNING
Before proceeding disconnect the battery from the unit, negative cable first
and then positive. When reconnecting it connect the positive first and then
the negative.
1. Remove cover from engine control cabinet.
2. Unlock connector on the back of cabinet and remove the engine control
harness route to the engine.
3. Remove the following leads from the control board inside the cabinet. These
are all AC and sensor leads that go through the hole in the floor of the cabinet.

These are the only wires that have to be removed from the board all the other
wiring on the board will be replaced with the wiring in the new engine control.
Be sure to loose the wire clamp in the bottom of the engine control so the wire
can slide through them when the control is removed.
4. Unbolt the shock mounts and remove the old engine control from the
generator.
5. Install the new DGC2020 engine control routing the wires from the generator
box up through the hole in the bottom of the engine control. These are the same
wires that you loosened in step 3.
