The VFR Pushbutton is use to select the VFR Squawk code. Pressing it a second time will
recall the previous code.
The VFR pushbutton has an additional function. Pressing and holding it for three seconds
will enlarge the squawk code display. When in this mode the functions on the bottom portion
of the display screen will no longer be displayed. Pressing and holding the VFR Pushbutton
for three seconds again will exit this mode. This function is useful in high sunlight condi-
tions, particularly with bubble canopies.
When power is first applied to the STX 165, the SANDIA aerospace logo will be displayed along with the unit
version number (the last two digits of the part number), the Display software version (D) and the Main software
version (M). The current software versions can be seen on the SANDIA aerospace web site at www.sandia.aero .
IDT Pushbutton The IDT is the Ident pushbutton and is depressed when requested by ATC to Ident. The
STX 165 remains in the Ident mode for 22.5 seconds. When transmitting Ident, ID will be
displayed in the left portion of the display.
