Maintenance
Observe regular maintenance intervals
to ensure maximum performance and
life from the pressure washer. Refer to
the schedule for recommended mainte-
nance. If you operate the pressure
washer in dusty conditions, perform
maintenance checks more often.

NOTICE
TIPS FOR EXTENDING THE LIFE OF
YOUR PRESSURE WASHER
1. Never operate the unit without
water.
2. Your pressure washer is not meant
to pump hot water. Never connect
your pressure washer to a hot water
supply as it will significantly reduce
the life of the pump.
3. Running the unit for more than one
minute without spraying water
causes heat to build up in the
pump. Running the unit without

spraying water can damage pump
components.
4. Release the trigger prior to switch-
ing the lance between high and low
pressure. Failure to do so may
reduce the life of the o-rings in the
lance.
3. Drain old oil.
4. Replace the drain plug and set the
unit upright.
5. Refill the unit with new oil of a rec-
ommended type and quantity. Fill
the unit to the proper level shown
on the dipstick (if provided).
Otherwise, fill the unit to the top of
the oil filler neck.
CHECKING PUMP OIL AND PUMP OIL
CHANGING
Checking oil level: Most pumps have
either a sight glass or a dipstick (or
both) to check the pump oil level. The
sight glass is usually located on the back
side of the pump. The dipstick has a
plastic cap and is located at the top of
the pump (See Figure 20.)
