5. CONNECTIONS
The connection cables which connect the amplifiers output and the speaker should be of
good quality, have sufficient conductor area and be as short as possible. The latter fact is specially
important when the distance is long and the load impedance low (4-8
Ω). A cross-section of at least
2.5mm
2
is recommended for distances up to 10m; 4 or 6mm
2
for longer distances. Following formula
gives the required section, assuming 4% losses:

Always respect the polarity of all the units with respect to each other and with respect to the
amplifier to which they are connected. All the connectors are of the Speakon® type with the cable
connectors shown in the diagram.
6. RECOMMENDED AMPLIFIER
Following table shows the output power of the amplifier adequate to each acoustic system:
•
VERSO 8 between 150 and 300W
•
VERSO 10 between 250 and 500W
•
VERSO 12 between 350 and 700W
7. PRE-AMPLIFIER MIXERS
There are usually one or more pieces of equipment for processing the audio signals (pre-
amplifiers, mixers, equalisers, etc.), which then send them to the power amplifier connected to the
installation speakers. As a general precaution, avoid excessive gain adjustments in the equalizers
and tone controls.
