The Uniden'- Bearcat*^ 5CXL i$ equipped with a custom designed liquid crystal
display to Indicate channel number, frequency and lockout mode. All LCDs have

a preferred viewing angle where the display contrast is rnaiumum, The best
viewing angle depends on design consideration, temperature and battery con
dition. Optimum viewing of Ihe Uniden* Bearcat' 50XL is achieved by holding
the unit at about AS degrees. This also provides the best position for using the

keypad.
