2. Product Information
The Boekel Rocker II is designed to provide a gentle to vigorous degree of rocking motion
for the uniform mixing of samples. Application areas include Hybridization,
Electrophoresis, Hemotology, RIA and Bio-sample preparation. The Rocker II is supplied
with a 12” (30.5cm) by 12” (30.5cm) platform and non-slip rubber mat.
The Boekel Rocker II provides a rocking speed of approximately 3 to 25 rocks per minute
and a variable rocking angle of 0 to 40 degrees (+/- 20 degrees). The unit is capable of
operating in ambient temperatures of up to 40
°C without degradation of motor life. The
platform can carry a maximum of 6 lbs. (2.7 kg.). When two platforms are used (stacking
platform) the total load for both platforms combined should not exceed 5 lbs. (2.3 kg.).
3. Assembly
3.1 Unpacking
Remove packing materials carefully, and retain for future shipment or storage of the unit.
Inspect for damage. Report all shipping damage to the carrier immediately. Shipping
damage is covered by the carrier and repair/replacement for shipping damages must be
coordinated through the carrier. Complete and return the Warranty Registration Card.

3.2
Installation
Place the Rocker II on a flat and stable surface clear of obstructions that might hit the
rocking platform. Plug the power pak into a receptacle of the appropriate voltage. When
moving the instrument, always carry by the base, never by the platform.
4. Operation
4.1
Controls
The Power Switch controls power to the unit.
4.2
Setting the Platform Angle
With the platform unloaded, adjust the platform tilt angle by loosening the knurl edge
thumbscrew on the side of the unit. Be careful that the adjustment screw and nut do not
come loose from the rotating cam. Slide the nut in the slot until the desired degree of
rocking angle is achieved. Tighten the knurl thumbscrew securely by hand then test the
rocking action before loading the platform.
4.3
Loading the Tray
Load the platform from the center out to avoid placing an unstable load on the unit,
which may cause the product to tip over when rocking.
