About This Release
The release notes give you late-breaking information about Kofax Export Connector 8.2.1 for
IBM FileNet Content Manager. Please read this document carefully, as it contains information
that is not included in other documentation.
Version Information
This Kofax Export Connector for IBM FileNet Content Manager product is identified by build
number 8.2.1.0.0.44. After installing the export connector, you can verify the build number:
1 In your Kofax Capture installation, navigate to
Bin\Kofax.FileNet.8.2
.
2 Right-click Kofax.FileNet.Connector.dll and select Properties.
3 On the Details tab, verify that the “Product version” number is 8.2.1.0.0.44.
New Features
The following new features are included in this release of Kofax Export Connector for IBM
FileNet Content Manager:
▪ Ability to replace an existing document when a newer version with the same file name is
exported. To use this feature, open the export connector setup window, click the Document
Settings tab, and select Replace existing document. (322347)
▪ Ability to set a timeout value indicating the length of time to keep the connection open
between the export connector and the IBM FileNet Content Manager server. If the specified
interval elapses, the connection is closed; with Kofax Capture, any affected batches are sent
to the Quality Control module. (326173)
To use this feature, open the export connector setup window, click the General Settings
tab, and set an Export execution timeout value.

Change in Behavior
In this release, all WSE 3.0 Web services have been migrated to Windows Communication
Foundation (WCF). Any dependency on Microsoft WSE 3.0 is now removed from the
