21. Troubleshooting Tips
IF THE POWER ON THE NVS1501 CANNOT BE TURNED OFF VIA THE
ON/OFF BUTTON:
Press the RESET button using a toothpick or paper clip.
The RESET button will turn the power off safely so that the data stored in the hard
drive will not be lost or altered.
IF THE CONTROL KEY IS NOT RESPONDING:
If you are unable to select an operation that involves the pressing of the control
key in an up/down/left/right direction, you can still perform the [COPY] or
[VERIFY] functions of the NVS1501 by using the power (on/off) button.
First, turn on your NVS1501 by pressing the power button for over two seconds.
Next, place your memory card into the appropriate slot. When the LCD screen
shows [SAFE COPY], briefly press the power button to begin copying. Please note
that you will be initiating the “Safe Copy” function— which is slower, but is the
most reliable method of backup.
When the copying is done, remove your memory card. Now re-insert the
memory card and wait until your NVS1501 asks [VERIFY?] A brief press of the
power button will begin the “Verify” process.
