Power Steering Fluid

Exchange System

Preparation Before Service:

Vehicle should have the emergency brake placed on.

Check NEW fluid container for adequate power steering fluid to perform

service.

Check USED fluid container to assure of adequate space for used fluid

removal.

OPERATION, “PSE 1” without Power Cart:

Connect PSE 1 to vehicle battery terminals using the color coded
battery clamps on the PSE 1. If terminals are not connected
correctly, PSE 1 will not function. Connect extraction wand hose into
control wand.

NOTE: If vehicle battery is weak, RED light on PSE will flash noting

such. Charge vehicle battery before proceeding .

With engine off, insert extraction wand hose into power steering
reservoir, extract all power steering fluid from reservoir by pressing
and holding REMOVE button of extraction wand.

Refill reservoir by pressing FILL button on extraction wand.

NOTE: Fill reservoir above steering fluid return line for best

exchange results.

Replace cap on reservoir and start vehicle.

Turn wheels fully right and fully left then coming back to neutral.
Turn vehicle OFF.

Repeat step 2 through 5 as many times as necessary to achieve a
desired total fluid exchange.

OPERATION, “PSE 1” with Power Cart:

PSE 1 with Power Cart option provides the added convenience of not requiring the vehicle
battery as a power source. The power cart has an on-board 12v battery and 120v charging
system. When system is plugged into a 120v receptacle, a red LED on the charging system
will be lit, when battery is fully charged, a green LED will be lit.

NOTE: If power cart battery is of low charge, RED light on PSE 1 will flash noting such.

Charge power pack battery before proceeding. Power button must be activated to
observe flashing light.

Perform Steps 2 through 6 as explained in OPERATION without Power Cart, until the
desired fluid exchange is achieved.

NEW / USED HOSE CONNECTION REMOVAL

To remove NEW and USED hose connectors to fluid tanks,
depress small lever on connector and lift upward.

FILTER SERVICE:

1.

Remove USED fluid container, filter is located inside case, towards the bottom.

2.

Unscrew filter bowl counterclockwise and remove filter bowl and screen.

3.

Clean screen filter and bowl and replace, tighten clockwise securely.

4.

Replace USED fluid tank and attach used fluid hose to tank.

WARRANTY

All Symtech Corporation Power Steering Service products are warranted to be free from defects
in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one year after the
sale of product to service facility. Items including filters, service hoses, adapters and fittings are
warranted for a period of ninety (90) days. Exception to this policy will be individually evaluated
and must be approved by Symtech Corporation. The sole obligation under this warranty shall be
to repair, or replace any defective product, or components thereof which upon examination are
deemed to the manufacturer’s satisfaction to be defective.

Warranty shall not apply to any product which has been subject to misuse, negligence, or
accident. Manufacturer shall not be responsible for any special of consequential damages and
the warranty as set forth is in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied. However,
the manufacturer makes no warranty of merchantability in respect to any products for any
purpose other than that stated in literature and any applicable manufacturers shop or service
manuals referred to therein, including subsequent service bulletins.

Proof of purchase MUST accompany all warranty claims.

WARNING:

DO NOT use the PSE 1 to dispense or extract any fluids other than power steering
fluid and approved power steering fluid additives.

NEVER use the PSE 1 to dispense or extract brake fluid. Doing such will VOID
warranty and result in excessive repairs to internal pump.
