gearbox servicing
the gearbox oil in the gearboxes should be
changed at the initial 50 hours of service, then
at every 450 hours.
to remove the old gear oil from the gearboxes
use an oil suction gun. Remove the oil fill plug/
dip stick, 1, from the top of each gearbox, 2,
and insert the tube from the suction gun down
into the oil fill hole, then suction the oil out of
the gearbox.
Note: The center gearbox is shown. The left wing
gearbox is the same as the center gearbox.
Note: The oil fill plug/dip stick on the right wing
gearbox is located at the opposite corner of the
gearbox.
Once all the old gear oil is removed from each
of the gearboxes, remove the oil level plug, 3,
from the gearboxes.
Note: The oil fill plug/dip stick, 1, is located on the
top of the divider gearbox, 2, and the oil level plug, 3,
is located on the front of the divider gearbox.
Note: The divider gearbox is shown with the gearbox
shield removed for figure clarity.
add Sae 80-90W gear oil to the gearboxes
until oil exits the oil level hole, and then screw
the oil level plug and oil fill plug/dip stick back
into the gearbox.
Once the oil level plug is screwed back into
the gearbox, recheck the oil level using the fill
plug/dip stick.
the oil level should be at the mark, 2, on the fill
plug/dip stick.
If the oil level is over the fill mark remove the
oil level plug, and allow the oil to drain out until
the proper level is reached on the fill plug/dip
stick, then screw the oil level plug back into the
gearbox.
