gearBoX Maintenance
check gearbox oil
Divider Gearbox
Important: When checking the oil level or filling the
gearboxes, the cutter must be level.
Note: It may be necessary to jack one end of the cutter
up to level out the gearboxes.
Check the oil in the gearboxes every 50 hours.
to check the oil level in the divider gearbox
remove the oil fill plug/dip stick, 1, from the
gearbox.
the oil level should be at the full mark,
1, on the oil fill plug/dip stick, 2.
If the oil level is not at the full mark on the oil
fill plug/dip stick add Sae 80-90W gear oil level
is at the full mark on the oil fill plug/dip stick.
If the gearbox, 1, is overfilled, remove the
oil level/drain plug, 2, from the front of the
gearbox. allow the oil to drain out until the
proper level is reached on the fill/dip stick, 3,
and then screw the oil level/drain plug back
into the gearbox.
Screw the oil fill/dip stick, 3, back into the
gearbox, 1.
Note: The gearbox is shown with the gearbox shield
removed for figure clarity.
