Before first use
WArnIng:

The blades of the knife insert are extremely sharp! Do not touch the blades.

Always grasp the knife insert by the shaft. Do not leave young children play with the appli-

ance or any part of it or the packing material.
After unpacking, remove all promotional and packing materials as well as any foreign objects.
Before first use and after a long period of storage, clean the appliance with a damp soft

cloth and warm soapy water (see: ›Care and Cleaning‹).

release the on/off button, wait until the motor stops and unplug the

appliance before assembling/disassembling. The blades of the knife insert are extremely

sharp! Do not touch the blades. Always grasp the knife insert by the shaft.
Before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply, always ensure that the appli-

ance is assembled correctly, according to the following instructions, and there are no for-

eign objects or hard parts of the food in the container (i.e. cooking utensils, tissues, bones

or seeds).
Do not operate the appliance while empty.
The appliance has a safety contact, which prevents switching on of the appliance if the

motor is not positioned correctly on the lid.
Do not chop very hard ingredients such as coffee beans, nutmeg, grain or ice.

Do not pour hot liquids into the container.

Place the container on a suitable, stable, dry, and clean working surface. (see:

›Safeguards for Daily Operation‹).

Grasp the shaft of the knife insert and, with the blades facing downward, place the knife

insert in the container.
note: Always place the knife insert in the thoroughly cleaned container before filling in any

food. Ensure that the knife insert is correctly positioned on the circle on the bottom of the

container. The circle must be thoroughly clean and there may be no residues of food on it.

Check whether the knife insert is positioned correctly and can move freely.

Prepare your food and fill it in the container.

Do not overfill the container. The food may not exceed the MAX line.
• Cut meat, cheese, onions, and soft frozen food in pieces of about 1 cm.

• Remove uneatable and hard parts of the food: stalks, skins and shells, seeds, bones,

gristle, and tendons.

Place the chopping lid on the container.

The shaft of the knife insert must protrude the opening in the centre of the chopping lid.
