free space on each side and 1 m of free space above the appliance. Ensure, that the power
base will not tilt or wobble.
2. Fill with pure drinking water. Press the opening button to open the lid. Fill with the desired
amount of water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum (500) and maximum marks (1700/
MAX) on the water gauge.
• Too little water will result in the kettle switching OFF before the water has boiled.
• Filling above the maximum mark on the water gauge of the kettle may result in boiling water
splashing from the kettle.
wARnInG!
Do not overfill the water container beyond the maximum water level mark
1700/MAX (1.7 litre). Otherwise boiling water could splash from the kettle during operation,
causing injuries to persons and damage. Only use clear water without any ingredients. Dry
spilled water immediately.
3. Ensure, that the lid is locked firmly into place and place the kettle onto the power base.
The electric contacts of the multi-directional power base will slide into a corresponding opening
in the bottom of the kettle. The power base will work out in any orientation.
nOTe: Always keep the lid closed during operation. Otherwise power consumption increases
significantly.
CAuTIOn! Only with the lid closed, the kettle automatically switches OFF, once the water has
boiled.
4.
Plug the power cord into a 230/240V power outlet and switch ‘ON’ (‘green’ position). The
power ‘ON’ light and the water gauge will illuminate and the heating element starts heating.

The exterior of the kettle will get very hot during operation and even some
minutes after switching ‘OFF’ the appliance. In addition, beware of steam venting from the lid
and spout and hot condensate, especially when opening the lid or pouring out water. Always
keep your hands, face and arm as well as any clothing and other objects away from the lid and
spout of the kettle. Always use the soft grip handle for moving the kettle and take care to keep
the kettle level to avoid boiling water pouring out unintentionally.
nOTe: The kettle will automatically switch ›Off‹ once the water has boiled and a bell rings, but
the automatic switching off only works out with the lid closed.
5. Lift the kettle by the handle from the power base and pour the water. When moving the kettle,
ensure to hold the kettle level, especially when filled to the maximum level.
nOTe: Use caution when pouring boiling water from the kettle. Do not pour the water too quic-
kly, as boiling water could splash.
6.
To reboil, it may be necessary to wait for about 1 or 2 minutes to allow the kettle to cool down
and the control to reset.
7.
Switch OFF the kettle (power switch position ‘red’) and unplug the power connector. Pour out
any remaining water. Do not leave remaining water cool down to room temperature in the kettle
to avoid any excessive accumulation of mineral deposits on the interior of the water container
and water gauge.
The kettle may be stored on its power base, when not in use to protect the connector pins
from dust and splashes. The power switch must be switched ›Off‹ and the appliance must be
unplugged from the power supply, when not in use.
