The appliance should only be connected to 230V~ 50Hz electrical mains with a protective
earth connection. Always verify that the mains voltage at the place of use is the same as
the voltage indicated in the rating label on the appliance.
USING OF APPLIANCE
Our general condition feels good in the home or office when the humidity is suitably high. When a room is heated,
the water vapour present in the air decreases sharply to provide just 40-50% of the humidity that our body needs.
Low humidity and dry air can result in various unpleasant effects, such as an increase in the quantity of airborne
dust in the room, and contamination likely to trigger respiratory ailments. Low humidity is also harmful to animals
and plants in the home, and it may cause wood furniture to age prematurely. The ultrasonic humidifier is a mo-
dern appliance that supplements the humidity in rooms, which is particularly beneficial in winter when heating is
on or in summer when air conditioning is in use.
Before use
• Unpack the appliance and remove all the packing materials.
• Inspect the appliance and the accessories carefully to verify their soundness and undamaged condition. Only
perfectly sound and damage-free appliances may be connected to the electrical mains.
• Clean the water tank and body of the appliance before using the humidifier for the first time, as described in
the section „Maintenance and cleaning”. Clean the appliance at least once every year.
• Having verified that the appliance is completely sound, and completed the cleaning, place the ultrasonic
humidifier onto the horizontal, stable surface where it is to be located. When deciding where to place the
appliance, always observe the instructions in the section „Important safety information”.
BEFORE USE
1. Screw down the cover (5) with the dosing valve at the bottom of the appliance and pour at least 4 litres of
water into the tank. The tank water level can be monitored through the transparent window in the side of the
appliance. The humidifier has a switch that stops its operation if the water runs out. When this happens the
green light next to the main switch changes to red, indicating that the tank must be refilled. In operation, the
humidifier evaporates about 230ml of water per hour. Attention! Often the water is hard meaning that if tap
water is used to operate the appliance there is an increased danger of scaling.
We recommend that you alternate the use of tap water and distilled (soft, de-ionized) water, using tap water
only for every fourth refill. Please note that the warranty does not cover damage resulting from scaling,
neglect or improper maintenance.
2. After filling the tank with water, screw the cover onto the tank and place the tank onto the body of the
appliance. When you do this, the valve at the top of the tank cover opens, and the water holder (10)f fills up in
a few seconds. The valve then gradually feeds the water into the holder.
Attention! The water tank of the appliance must only be removed from the machine body after the
appliance has been powered off by turning the main switch to „OFF” and unplugging the power cord
from the mains socket.
3. Plug the appliance into a mains power socket and switch it on by turning the main switch (7) clockwise. The
lamp next to the main switch glows green, and white mist is emitted from the evaporation mouth (2) of the
humidifier. When the lamp begins to glow red, the water tank is empty.
4. The amount of mist can be adjusted using the mist adjuster (7); the backlight push button (13) turns the
backlight on and off.
5. When you have finished using the appliance, turn it off and unplug the power cord from the mains socket.
Never leave water in the tank when the humidifier is not being used; stale water can result in discoloring of
the tank, algae can grow, and the mist produced when the appliance is next used may have an unpleasant
smell.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
For the hygienic use of the appliance regular, weekly cleanings are required.
Warning! Before you clean the appliance it must be switched off and the mains plug must be
removed from the wall socket.
It is extremely important that the body of the appliance is not immersed in water and is not held
under running water.
• Clean the outside cover of the appliance with a damp, soft, lint-free cloth and then wipe the cleaned
surfaces with a dry lint-free cloth. Take care not to allow any moisture inside the cover. Let the appliance dry
completely before re-using or storing it.
• To ensure long life of the appliance, we strongly recommend the use of soft water. If tap water is used, scaling
can occur in the water holder (10) or on the membrane (11). Scaling must be monitored; if it is not removed,
the resulting white powder can leave the mouth of the evaporator and settle on the objects around the
appliance. In the long term, scaling will decrease the efficiency of evaporation and can damage the appliance.
In certain areas the water is so hard that cleaning may be required on a more regular basis, possibly even daily.
