POWER SUPPLY
The device is powered by two 1.5V AA (LR6) batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Inserting the batteries
1. Gently press the indentations on the side of the battery compartment lid, then pull the lid down.
2. Insert two 1.5V AA batteries into the battery compartment, taking care to ensure the + and - symbols on the
batteries correspond with the markings on the compartment. Inserting batteries incorrectly may damage the
device.
•
The batteries should be replaced when the device will not switch on or when the motor sounds as though it’s
slowing down.
•
Leaking batteries may damage the device. This type of damage is not covered by the manufacturer’s
warranty. To avoid causing any damage:
•
Always insert the batteries correctly, taking care to ensure the + and - symbols correspond with the markings
on the compartment.
•
Replace discharged ‘flat’ batteries immediately with new ones.
•
Always remove the batteries if the device won’t be used for a while.
For the sake of environmental protection, you are kindly requested not to put used low batteries
into the household waste but to dispose of them in the container of an authorised dealer.
USING OF APPLIANCE
•
Unpack the appliance and remove all the packing materials.
•
Examine the device to make sure it’s complete and has not suffered any damage. You should only use the
device if all parts are present and undamaged.
•
Set the appropriate cutting length according to the type and fluffiness of the material. Turning the
adjustment to the left will cause less material to be removed, turning it to the right will remove more lint for
a closer shave. If you’re not sure which setting to use, start by turning the control to the left and then change
the cutting length if necessary.
The effects of direct sunlight on the appliance can include:
- accelerated deterioration of the appliance casing and its plastic and rubber components,
damage to strength and other structural features. The appliance’s surface may become porous
and fragile, which may result in a safety risk.
Storing the appliance in cold or frosty environment may cause:
- damage to the plastic and rubber components; if they become fragile, this may result in a safety
risk.
- oxidation resulting from condensation, and corrosion of the metal components.
Direct and indirect heat (e.g. being too close to an oven or a heating appliance) can cause:
- damage, deformation, softening or melting of plastic or rubber parts and casing elements, or
deterioration of electrical insulation.
Following the operating instructions and avoiding any of the conditions listed above will help you
increase the lifespan of the appliance. The manufacturer is not responsible if the appliance is stored
inappropriately or contrary to these instructions. You are recommended to have the appliance
serviced regularly by an authorised engineer to keep it working for as long as possible.
Keep your environment clean! The used appliance cannot be disposed of with communal waste, as
it can pollute wildlife and severely endanger human health. At the end of its life please take it to a
locally approved competent recycling point for electric appliances for recycling or for environment
friendly disposal. Do not dispose of flat batteries with communal waste, but take them to a locally
approved recycling point. Flat batteries are hazardous waste that pollutes the environment if not
collected and disposed of in an environment friendly manner.
Please keep this instruction manual. If you give the appliance to anyone else, you must give them
this instruction manual, too!
