Warning!
When filling or rinsing out the tank of the appliance, never put it under
a tap or submerge it into water!
Filling the tank
1. Remove the kettle from its power supply foot.
2. Fill the tank with water. Use a suitable jug, not the tap. After filling the water tank, close the tank cover.
3. The device’s tank must be filled with water at least to the minimum level mark.
4. Do not fill over the maximum level mark, as this may cause spills, scalding and accidents.
Switching the device ON
1. After filling the required volume of water, wipe the kettle cover completely dry, then replace it onto the
power supply foot. Make sure that the power supply foot is completely dry and the kettle is seated tightly
on the foot.
2. Plug the supply cable into the wall socket.
3. Switch the kettle on by switching the ON-/OFF button into position “I”; after turning it on, the pilot light
will Illuminate.
Switching OFF the device
• When the water boils in the tank, the device automatically switches OFF, the pilot light turns off, and the
ON-/OFF switch automatically returns to its “0” /switched OFF position. The kettle can manually be switched
OFF by changing the position of the ON-/OFF switch to the “0” position (e.g. if you only want to warm the
water).
• The kettle can only be switched ON again if the overload cut-out sensor has had enough time to cool down.
• If you want to boil water again but the ON-/OFF-switch does not remain in the “I” (“ON”) position, do not
force the ON button to stay as this can cause severe damage to the operating mechanism (in case of any
damage resulting from overloading the switching mechanism, the manufacturer’s warranty will lose its
validity).
Warning! After boiling, you must pour out the remaining water from the tank.
Never leave unused water in the tank.
Never remove the water heater from its power supply foot if the pilot-light is lit (when
the appliance is not shut down automatically or by hand) - as an electric arc can be
produced at the power supply contacts which may result in damage to the appliance.
Please respect the environment when the appliance reaches the end of its life. Electrical products
must not be disposed of with other residential waste because they can damage the natural world
and may be hazardous to human health. You should dispose of the appliance at an appropriate
recycling site or by using a collection service that specialises in electrical appliances.
Please keep this instruction manual. If you give the appliance to anyone else,
you must give them this instruction manual, too!
