Please respect the environment when the appliance reaches the end of its life. Electrical products
must not be disposed of with other residential waste because they can damage the natural world and
may be hazardous to human health. You should dispose of the appliance at an appropriate recycling
site or by using a collection service that specialises in electrical appliances.
Please keep this instruction manual. If you give the appliance to anyone else, you must
give them this instruction manual, too!

POWER SUPPLY
The appliance should only be connected to 230V~ 50Hz electrical mains with a protective
earth connection. Always verify that the mains voltage at the place of use is the same as
the voltage indicated in the rating label on the appliance.
USING OF APPLIANCE
Before use
• Rinse the inside of the water tank thoroughly two or three times with clear tap water before the first use. After
water has been boiled for the first time, it must be poured away. The appliance is now ready for regular, daily
use.
Warning!
When filling or rinsing out the tank of the appliance, never put it under a tap or submerge
it into water!
Filling the tank
1. Before filling with water, remove the water heater from its power supply foot.
2. Fill water into the tank of the appliance: use a decanter and not a tap or water jet source. After filling,
remember to shut the tank cover.
3. The water tank must be filled past the minimum level mark.
4. Do not fill water over the maximum level mark as it may be spilled causing injuries or burns.
Turning on the appliance
1. After filling to the level required, make sure the kettle’s outer surface is completely dry, then replace it onto
the power supply foot. Ensure that the power supply foot is completely dry and the appliance is seated tightly
on the foot.
2. Plug the power cable into the wall or extension socket.
3. Turn the appliance on by switching the ON-/OFF button into position „I”; the pilot-light will glow.
Switching off the appliance
• When the water boils, the appliance will automatically switch off, the pilot-light will go out, and the ON-/
OFF switch will automatically return to OFF: position „0”. The water heater can manually be switched OFF by
changing the position of the ON-/OFF switch to „0” (e.g. if you only want to warm the water).
• The water heater can only be switched ON again, if the overload cut-out sensor has had enough time to cool
down.
• If, following this, you want to boil water again but the ON-/OFF-switch will not stay in position „I” („ON”) and
switches OFF again, switching ON cannot be forced. This results in severe damage to the operating mechanism
(in the case of damage resulting from overloading the switching mechanism, the manufacturer’s warranty will
be invalidated).
• Warning! After boiling, you must pour out the remaining water from the tank. Never leave
unused water in the tank.
• Never remove the water heater from its power supply foot if the pilot-light is lit (when the
appliance is not shut down automatically or by hand) - as an electric arc can be produced at the
power supply contacts which may result in damage to the appliance.
