• After use and before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the mains. Never do this by pulling on the

cable; always take hold of the plug and pull out of the socket. Switch off the appliance before disconnecting it
from the mains.

• Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around

the cover of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the appliance with the mains cable because
the cable can break or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised
service engineer. The appliance must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.

• Warning! Disassembling the appliance, opening the casing or attempting to repair it at home are forbidden

- non compliance with this instruction might result in serious accidents. The inside of the appliance does not
contain any parts that can be repaired at home or used for any other purpose. Never use the appliance with
damaged power cable or connector, if operation is erratic or if it was dropped and is otherwise damaged. If
the appliance has become faulty for any reason or moisture has got inside the casing, take it to an authorised
service engineer for checking or repair. Only skilled experts are authorised to repair the appliance. The
manufacturer is not liable for damages if home repair has been attempted or the instructions in the operating
manual have not been complied with.

Attention! Never leave the appliance connected to the mains when it is unattended.

• Modifying or adding an extra length to the power cable of the appliance is forbidden!

Should the cable of the appliance turn out to be too short, it may be extended only by using a commercially
available standard extension cable equipped with protective earth contact, and the extension cable must
have an electrical rating of at least 10 A (cables with lower electrical rating could heat up during use). If
other electric appliances have to be operated simultaneously with the same extension cable, their current
consumptions must be added up to determine the electrical rating requirement of the extension cable. If an
extension cable is used, both the mains socket and the extension cable must have protective earth. When an
extension cable is used, special care must be taken to avoid tripping over it.

• Do not allow anything to be dropped into the slots of the water heater or the power supply foot and never

insert anything.

• To avoid overloading your electricity supply, please don’t use the appliance at the same time as any other

high-power device (e.g. a kettle or heater) in the same socket or on the same mains circuit.

• Always take care to avoid straining the electric cable, never drag or lift the appliance by the power cable as

it could be torn off or damaged. For the same reason prevent the power cable from getting under the feet of
chairs or other furniture.

• When you have finished using the appliance, always switch it off and remove the mains plug from the wall

socket or extension cable.

• Put the appliance onto a flat, stable surface, where the water heater will not be overturned, dragged down or

fall and is safe from children, even after use.

• During use the cover of the appliance will be hot. Take care not to touch the hot part of the cover as there is a

risk of burning; hold the appliance only by the handle and be extremely careful when pouring hot water.

• The appliance can only be used for boiling water; no other substance can be boiled in the tank. The appliance

is not intended for boiling milk. It is strictly prohibited to put food into the water boiling in the appliance
(sausages, instant soup, tea in the filter etc.)!

• Only use cold tap water with the appliance. Never use mineral or medicinal water. The water level must be

between the minimum and maximum level marks. Water exceeding the maximum level mark may spill
causing injuries to the user. The water heater can only be switched on when the tank cover is shut and it must
not be reopened during boiling.

• Do not move the appliance during operation. After using it turn it off, or wait for the automatic shutdown,

then unplug the appliance from the socket and wait until it is completely cooled down before packing it away.

• The power supply foot must only be used with the water heater. If the power supply foot is damaged, unfit or

presents any visible sign of damage or is put into water, stop using the appliance immediately. In such cases
contact your dealer or an authorized service shop to have the appliance repaired.

• The kettle must only be filled up, emptied or cleaned when removed from its power supply foot. Before

removing or returning the kettle to its power supply foot, ensure the main switch is off.

• Should the power supply foot get wet, immediately remove the plug from the socket, then wipe the power

supply foot dry. Do not turn on the appliance unless the power supply foot is completely dry.

• The kettle has a safety cut out, protecting it against damage caused by use without enough water which

can result in the heater coil overheating. Should the safety cut out initiate from a lower water level than the
minimum required or being switched on without water, the appliance must be removed from the mains, then
after a period of cooling down (min. 30 minutes) the appliance can be used again. If, after this period, the
appliance does not switch on, contact your dealer or authorised service shop to have the appliance repaired.
Use without water or with a lower water level than the minimum required will qualify as improper use and
the manufacturer’s warranty will lose its validity for the damage caused.

Warning!

When filling or rinsing out the tank of the appliance, never put it under a tap or

submerge it into water!

• Never remove the water heater from its power supply foot if the pilot-lamp is lit (when the appliance is not

shut down automatically or by hand) - as an electric arc can be produced at the power supply contacts which
may result in damage to the appliance.
