IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance.
Please read this section very carefully!
Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.
•
This appliance has been designed for household use only, no other (heavy duty) uses are permitted.
•
Never use the appliance outdoors.
Warning! Always disconnect the appliance from the mains when you’ve finished using
it or are taking a break, even if it’s only for a short period of time.
•
This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without
experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended
to make sure that they do not play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under
the age of 14, not even with supervision!
•
To avoid the risk of electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Never touch the
appliance with wet hands. Connect and disconnect the power cable to the socket with dry hands only. Should
moisture get inside the casing of the appliance for any reason, stop operation immediately and take the
appliance to an authorised service engineer for checking or repair
•
Only use the appliance on a stable, level surface. Keep it away from water and make sure it cannot
accidentally slip or fall. If the appliance comes into contact with any kind of moisture or liquid during use,
immediately unplug it from the mains. Do not touch it or attempt to take it out of the liquid until the mains

•
The mains connector must be always disconnected from the wall socket after use and before cleaning. Never
disconnect the appliance from the socket by pulling the mains cable; always grip the plug!
•
If you empty grounds from the appliance, you must first remove the power connector from the mains, even if
you are using the appliance again straight away to grind more coffee.
•
Never run the appliance empty, with nothing in the coffee chamber.
•
Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the
appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.
•
Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around
the cover of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the appliance with the mains cable because
the cable can break or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised
service engineer. The appliance must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.
•
The use of the appliance must be avoided in areas where the temperature is too high or too low or where the
appliance is subject to vibrations. Avoid using the appliance under wet or vaporous conditions. The appliance
can be used within the temperature range of +10°C to +35°C and stored within the range of +5°C to +40°C.
•
Don't put the appliance near hot objects (e.g. oven, hob, heating appliance etc.) or on any hot surface.
•
Don’t place the appliance anywhere it could slide down, fall or be knocked off accidentally.
•
Don't use the appliance in the presence of explosive or inflammable gases, vapours or liquids.
•
Do not allow anything to fall into the appliance and do not push anything into the opening of the appliance
as the appliance could be damaged and could cause electrical shock.
•
Before turning on the appliance, check that the lid is on properly.
•
Make sure that before you remove the coffee chamber lid, the motor and the blade have completely stopped.
Never touch the blade of the appliance when rotating at high speed.
Do not overfill the coffee chamber by filling it above the rim of the metal part of the chamber; the
appliance cannot grind more than that effectively, and the motor may become overloaded. Use
the grinder to grind only dry substances (coffee, walnuts, sugar, hazelnuts, biscuits). Never put
liquid, ice or other moist substances into the chamber, as the appliance is not suitable for
chopping this type of substance. This is to avoid moisture getting into the coffee chamber of the
appliance which can cause electric shocks. Ensure that solid, hard objects do not accidentally get
into the coffee chamber as these could cause accidents and damage the appliance.
•
Whenever you fill or empty the grinder's coffee chamber, you must first turn it off (the power plug must be
disconnected from the mains socket).
•
Connect the appliance to the mains only after it has been fully assembled. For your protection, the
appliance is equipped with a safety system which prevents the appliance from operating if the coffee
chamber lid is not on.
