TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Engine fails lo start
® Fuel tank empty, or stale fuel
® Fill lank with clean, fresh fuel..
® Spark plug wire disconnected.
® Connect wire to spark plug
® Faulty spark plug.
® Clean, adjust gap or replace
Loss of power;
® Spark plug wire loose,.
® Connect and tighten spark plug wire
operation erratic
® Unit running on CHOKE.
® Move choke lever to OFF position.
® Blocked fuel fine or stale fuel
® Clean fuel line; fill tank with clean
fresh gasoline.
® Water or dirt in fuel system..
® Disconnect fuel line at carburetor to drain fuel
tank. Refill with fresh fuel.
• Carburetor out of adjustment
® Adjust carburetor or contact your SEARS
Service Center
® Dirty air cleaner
