Appendix A - Troubleshooting
Symptom

“Disc Error” or
• dirty or heavily scratched CD disc
•clean the CD disc
“No Disc” is shown
• wrong disc type
•replace with a proper CD disc
Disc spinning
• dirty or heavily scratched CD disc
•clean the CD disc erratically
• CD puck improperly attached
• replace CD puck properly
No power when the
• poor or no power plug connection
• insert the power plug firmly into the AC
power button is set
at power point
to ON
• blown fuse at mains plug
• change mains plug fuse
No sound
• incorrect audio cable connections
• ensure the CD-77 is correctly connected
• incorrect operation of Amplifier
• ensure input selector on the amplifier is set
to CD-77
Remote control
• batteries in remote handset
• replace batteries
does not work
have expired
• object obscuring remote sensor
• remove any objects directly in front of the CD-77
A “humming” sound
• loose cable connections
• re-attach the loose cables correctly
can be heard
Button does not react
• skin resistance too high
• place your fingertip across the gap
between button and front panel

• go to the Contents section and re-trace
