Brake pads
The warning lamps light up in red
even though the handbrake has been
released. The brake pads have
reached the safe limit for pad wear.
Have brake pads replaced immediately.
Display of this malfunction on Cana-
dian models.
For your own safety: use only brake pads
that BMW has approved for the corre-
sponding vehicle model. BMW is unable to
assess the suitability of brake pads it has not
approved and therefore cannot guarantee their
safety.
