FLOODED BATTERY
MAINTENANCE
• Always keep flame and metal items away from the battery.
• Keep the battery clean and dry.
• If the battery temperature is above 110˚F (43˚C), cool the
battery before charging or operating.
• Keep the vent caps securely in place while operating or
charging.
• Keep the battery compartment and battery cover open
during charging.
• Add approved water *after charging - never add acid.
• Keep the electrolyte level above the plates (see
illustration).
• After a full charge, the battery should be allowed to cool
approximately 8 hours prior to another discharge cycle.
Proper cool time is necessary after charging to avoid
battery damage at higher temperatures.

WATERING INSTRUCTIONS
Always use distilled water or water that
is known to be free of abnormally high
amounts of impurities.
Proper Electrolyte Level
The electrolyte level must be kept between
the “High Watering Level” (within 1/8" of
the bottom of the cell cover vent - see
drawing) and the plates as shown in the
drawing. The batteries should be filled to
the “High Watering Level” only at the end
of the charging period.
