MAINTENANCE
REGULAR MAINTENANCE WILL IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE AND EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE ENGINE.
MORE FREQUENT SERVICE IS REQUIRED WHEN OPERATING IN ADVERSE CONDITIONS.

DAILY CHECKS
CAUTION:
Used oil is a hazardous waste prod-
uct. Dispose of used oil properly. Do not discard with
household waste. Check with your local authorities,
service center, or dealer for safe disposal/recycling
facilities.
OIL
Before starting engine, check oil for correct level.
See page 6 of this manual for instructions on checking
and adding oil.
CLEANING DEBRIS
Daily or before every use, clean accumulated debris from
engine. Keep linkage, springs and controls clean.
Engine parts should be kept
clean to reduce the risk of
overheating and ignition of
accumulated debris.
WARNING
CAUTION:
Do not use water to clean engine
parts. Water could contaminate fuel system. Use a
brush or dry cloth.
WARNING
Before running engine, clean
muffler and manifold areas to
remove all grass and com-
bustible debris.
Depending on use, this may
need to be performed more
often.
