SLIDING PAD MOUNTS
S
PECIFICATIONS
Model Number: CM4SL
Weight:
5 lbs [2.25 kg] per pad mount
Note: Make sure to add the weight of all options to the Lifter Weight when you are
selecting appropriate hoisting equipment (see ASSEMBLY in main instructions).
Function: Specialized mounts allow the operator to reposition vacuum pads at predetermined
locations along the lifter's pad frame, using a cotterless hitch pin to secure each
mount in position. By changing the effective pad spread, these mounts enable a
lifter to handle a variety of load dimensions.
O
PERATION
Follow the directions for applying the vacuum pads to a
load in the main instructions (see OPERATION: T
O
A
PPLY THE
P
ADS TO A
L
OAD
), but adjust the procedure as
follows for the sliding pad mounts:
Before the vacuum pads contact the load, position the
pad mounts to optimize load support and minimize load
overhang while lifting (see INTENDED USE: L
OAD
C
HARACTERISTICS
in main instructions). Pads must be
arranged symmetrically, to keep the lifter balanced.
Make sure that all pads will fit entirely on the contact
surface and that they will be loaded evenly while lifting
(see SPECIFICATIONS: Pad Spread and Per-Pad Load
Capacity in main instructions). After confirming that pads are positioned to support the load
correctly, continue to operate the lifter as directed in the OPERATION section of the main
instructions.
Note: The pad frame may extend beyond the edges of smaller loads. When moving such loads,
be careful to avoid any obstacles to the pad frame, as well as to the load.
