ASSEMBLY
Assemble the vacuum lifter as directed in the ASSEMBLY section of the PT10 lifter's instruction
manual. In addition, attach Pad Frame Extension Arms where required to provide optimal load
support, as follows:
1) Remove the bolt securing the pad mount from one tube of the lifter's pad frame that you
intend to lengthen. Be sure note the order of the hardware associated with the bolt.
2) Remove the rubber end plug from the tube and slide the end of one extension arm over the
tube, so the holes for the bolt in the extension arm tabs align with the corresponding holes in
the pad frame. Save the end plug for future use.
3) Secure the extension arm in the pad frame by installing the new bolt and associated hardware
(provided) in the holes. Make sure the hardware is ordered correctly (see step 1). Then
tighten the bolt securely.
4) Move the vacuum pad mount to the new position on the
extension arm and align the holes for the cotterless hitch pin
(provided) in the pad mount with the corresponding holes in the
extension arm.
5) Make sure that the vacuum hose serving the vacuum pad will
not be pinched, kinked, cut or abraded and that it will not
interfere with lifter operations. Then secure the pad mount on the extension arm by pushing
the cotterless hitch pin through the holes until the retaining ball emerges on the far side of
the pad mount.
6) Repeat steps 1-5 to install other extension arms as needed to provide optimal support across
the load surface and to minimize load overhang. Always install extension arms in a
symmetrical arrangement and make sure that all vacuum lines are functioning correctly.
