Stepped steel washer

Tools Required:
½" Box wrench
15mm Box wrench
½" socket and torque wrench
Supplies Needed:
Loctite 243 or equivalent
Procedure:
1. Loosen clamp on the crossover pipe slip joint.
2. Remove the 5/16" bolts and washers that hold the crossover pipe to
the oil pan bracket.
3. Remove and discard the original rubber grommets and inner
grommet spacers.
4. Apply Loctite to the 5/16" bolts and install the stepped washers and
original flat washer as shown in the picture below.
NOTE
In order to align to bolts with oil pan bracket, it may be necessary to
remove the heat shields and loosen exhaust flanges at the heads. If this is
the case, retighten the exhaust flanges before tightening the clamp on the
crossover slip joint.
CAUTION
Do not force alignment of bolts with oil pan bracket. This may
cause damage the threaded holes in transmission and/or to the
bolts.
5. Tighten the 5/16" oil pan bracket bolts to 20 ft*lb.
6. Retighten exhaust flanges to 100-120 in*lbs if they were loosened to
faciliate alignment of an oil pan bracket bolts.
7. Tighten the clamp on the crossover pipe slip joint to 25-35 ft*lb.
