Disconnect the negative battery cable before performing any primary drive or clutch work on your motorcycle to prevent personal injury.
NOTE: S&S® Clutch and Inner Primary Bearing Race Removal tool was designed for use with S&S clutch and S&S inner primary bearing race but may
work for similar applications.
The use of power tools can severely damage the S&S clutch and inner primary bearing race removal tool.
NOTE: Threads of the puller screw should be coated with a graphite lube to protect threads.
USE OF S&S SERVICE TOOL 56-5141 FOR REMOVINg CLUTCh
1. Drain and remove primary cover per your factory service manual.
2. Remove the six bolts and springs from your S&S clutch pressure plate.
3. Remove the pressure plate from the clutch.
4. Remove the clutch hub retaining nut(left hand thread) and washer from the transmission mainshaft.
5. Remove compensating nut and compensator assembly from the sprocket shaft on the engine.
6. Remove the primary chain tensioner.
7. Install clutch removal tool (Picture 1) on to the clutch with the six bolts that were removed from the pressure plate. Using a ¾” wrench and a
3/8” drive ratchet remove the clutch as shown in Picture 2.
