STEP 2 Using a hex wrench, remove the two socket screws that hold your brake
side peg mount and remove the mount. PIC 1 If the motorcycle is
equipped with Küryakyn Driver’s Floorboards, remove the two socket
screws that hold the brake side board on and remove the board. PIC 2
Set this hardware aside, it will not be reused.
STEP 3
Insert one of the supplied M8 button socket cap screws through each
hole in the Heel Boss. If using the OEM peg mounts, place the included
long spacer over the front cap screw and one of the short spacers over
the rear cap screw. PIC 3 If using Küryakyn Chrome Driver peg mounts,
place one of the included short spacers over each cap screw. PIC 4 If
using Küryakyn Driver’s Floorboards, you will not use the included
spacers. PIC 5
STEP 4
Place the Heel Boss, with spacers (if needed) on the cap screws, through
the holes in the peg or floorboard mount. The spacers will go between
the Heel Boss and the mount. Place a drop of blue thread locker on the
threads of each cap screw. Attach the Heel Boss/ mount assembly to the
motorcycle by threading the M8 cap screws into the OEM mounting
location. Tighten to 20 FT/LBS.
NOTE: The Heel Boss changes the position of your foot while braking.
Expect a new or different feel when braking.
FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE POSITION OF THE
HEEL BOSS BEFORE OPERATING THE MOTORCYCLE
ON PUBLIC STREETS, ROADS, OR HIGHWAYS.
FAILURE TO BE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE WITH
THE USE OF THE HEEL BOSS COULD RESULT IN LOSS
OF CONTROL CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
THE HEEL BOSS IS DESIGNED AS A HEEL REST TO BE
USED WHEN BRAKING ONLY. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE
USED AS AN ALTERNATE FOOT REST POSITION, OR
TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE DRIVER. MISUSE
OF THE HEEL BOSS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF
CONTROL, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.
Ensure that the installation of this product does not
interfere with the proper operation of the motorcycle
before riding.
It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the
fasteners (including pre-assembled) are tightened before
operation of the motorcycle. Küryakyn will not provide
warranty coverage on products or components lost due to
improper installation or lack of maintenance. Periodic
inspection and maintenance are required on all fasteners.
