INSTALLATION; 2008-Present VICTORY:

NOTE; PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH SMALL PARTS IN CRUISE-MATE PACKAGE, SPRING AND

SHOULDER SCREW ARE VERY HARD TO FIND IF DROPPED.

1. Remove two screws that hold bottom plate on switch housing and remove bottom plate from

switch housing.

2. Install drill jig on bottom plate (fig 1) using flat head screw to secure jig block to plate.

a. Ensure step on jig block is against edge of bottom plate.

3. Using small hole in jig block as a guide, drill .136 diameter hole (# 29 drill bit) in bottom plate

and tap hole with 8-32 tap (fig 2).

a. NOTE: Leave tap in hole after threading to prevent jig from moving while drilling larger

hole for Cruise-Mate installation.

4. Install plastic drill guide bushing into jig block and carefully drill 21/64 hole in bottom plate.

a. Removing small tab that interlocks bottom plate with switch housing will make drilling

plate easier and won’t affect operation of control. Use a hacksaw or Dremel and file
smooth.

b. We recommend holding bottom plate in vice to eliminate possibility of drill bit catching

and spinning housing in your hand.

5. Remove plastic drill guide bushing from drill jig and using hole in drill jig as a guide, tap newly

drilled hole to 3/8-24.

6. Replace bottom plate on switch housing and tighten screws.
7. Ensure Cruise-Mate insert is backed out against retaining rings.
8. Apply Loctite to external threads of Cruise-Mate cartridge and screw into 3/8-24 threaded hole

and tighten.

a. Be very careful not to over tighten to avoid stripping threads.

9. Thread Cruise-Mate insert in until you feel contact with grip then back off until throttle grip turns

freely.

10. Apply a drop of Loctite on shoulder screw threads then install handle, handle spring and

shoulder screw on Cruise-Mate insert. Position handle on spline so it points approximately
toward rear of bike.

11. Apply Loctite to threads of stop pin and thread into 8-32 threaded hole.
12. Refer to operating instructions (attached) to set Cruise-Mate to operating conditions.

NOTE: Installing stop pin is optional. There is a snap ring on Cruise-Mate insert to limit rearward
travel, however, the stop pin will position Cruise-Mate handle for easier access and we believe adds
to the overall appearance of the installation. If not installing the stop pin, eliminate step 3 of the
installation instructions.
